Earlier this week, EMU released the Proteus VX as a free download. Though mainly a player and lacking in editing features, it does load and play correctly the Emulator X2 banks and presets as they were programmed in the X2.
So I thought that it would be appropriate to recap the banks I created for the EMU X2. I currently have 2 banks available, one free and one commercial.
- Free : One Loop Only, experiments in making individual hits from one loop.
Download: OLO for EMU X2 and Proteus VX (353 K), also available in other formats (GURU, Highlife, Shortcircuit). The various formats slightly differ from each other.
- Commercial: Chromatic Hits set (205 MB and 205 presets). This is my most elaborate set to date. Basically it's a good multisampled set for chromatic percussion (metallic and others), keyboard like instruments and sound FX. It can really add a whole new dimension to your Proteus VX/EMU X2!

Free demo (29 MB, 28 presets) can be downloaded from this page:

It's also available in other formats (sf2, sfz, Rapture, Kontakt 3) but all the extra presets were first created in the X2 with creative use of layers, velocity layers, cycle groups and random groups.
Thank you!
