Yeah, cancelled email accounts are tricky. :D

If any other ÜberMod customers haven't received their update email, send me an email and/or PM and I'll get things sorted out. I just checked the email report (I'm using MailChimp for the first time), and there were only a few bounces.

Now witness the awesome power of the fully operational Ping Pong mode:

<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.1" presetName="PingPongReverseReverb" Mix="1" Depth="0.189999998" StereoWidth="0.486000001" Delay="1" Feedback="0.739000022" Spread="1" Slope="0" Skew="0.0199999996" Random="0.592000008" TapGain="0.5" Diffusion="0.972000003" DiffSize="0.106122449" DiffModRate="0.0490490496" DiffModDepth="0.5" LowCut="0" HighCut="1" SpatialXover="0.145728648" DetuneRate="0.145145148" DetuneDepth="0.56400001" VibratoRate="0.298245579" VibratoDepth="0" OverMod="0" DriveInGain="0.375" DriveOutGain="0.75" DriveNoiseGain="0.333333343" FeedbackRotate="1" SmoothingTime="0.0990990996" ColorMode="0" DelaySync="0.235294119" type="0.375" DiffEnable="1" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="1" Speed="1" InputPan="0.5"/>

A reversed reverb, that ping pongs between left and right channels.

I HAVE BEEN BLOGGING! (Venture Brothers quote)

Over the last week, I have been working on "the missing manual" for ValhallaÜberMod. The way I have done these in the past is to write the manual section by section as blog posts. Well, I just wrote a whole bunch of those blog posts.

The ÜberMod High Level Controls:

The ÜberMod Delay Modes:

http://valhalladsp.wordpress.com/2012/0 ... the-modes/

The descriptions of the various "tabs":

A history of the ÜberMod development process:

And, last but not least, the blog post I should have written back in early December, the post that explains the whole idea behind the plugin: What is ÜberMod?

It will stay at 1.0.1 for some time. I had originally thought that ValhallaÜberMod would be like VRoom, where the updates add a bunch of new modes. However, the plugin ended up going in a different direction than planned. Instead of having a minimal control set, and a lot of modes that encapsulated vastly different internal states, I exposed a bunch of controls that would have normally been hidden. Combine a large control set with some pretty powerful modes, and the result is (arguably) a plugin that has a LOT of currently untapped power.

The 1.0.1 update added the WARP InputPan control, which was a useful addition. I had figured that the TAPS Skew control would cover ping-pong duties, but users argued (convincingly) that having standard ping pong controls would add to the versatility of the plugin.

I don't even really know what ÜberMod is capable of. Obviously, it can't do everything, but there are a lot of things that it wasn't designed to do that it is able to perform. For example, someone asked for a model of the Cooper Time Cube delay. There are no "garden hose delay" models in ÜberMod, but the Time Cube has a particular EQ and comb filtering curve, and the SuperSix mode got things into the ballpark.

So, if you've got a particular sound you'd like to here, post your preset requests here! I'm not saying for sure that ÜberMod can replicate a particular sound, but I'll give it a try.

I just heard, like, y'know, a little bit of the, like, y'know, interview, and, like, y'know, I think you can pick up on the fact that, like, y'know, I picked up some weird, like, y'know, speech patterns when I went to college in California.

:help:

Anyway, thanks for the interview and the nice review, Jon!

I'm really bad at things like that too. PLUS I managed to say Valhalla and EOS wrong every single time. :(

At the time you were saying it I didn't even notice. In editing I was like, y'know like what the hell!? I removed as many as I could.

No, a D+ in physics. To be fair, at least 1/2 of the people in that class got a perfect score on their math SATs (no joke).

I also got a C in Music 320a: The Discrete Fourier Transform. This was my in my first quarter of college. 24 years later, I have a slightly better handle on things.

HUH? Is this review online anywhere?
(Or, shall we say,UberCUP ?... you gotta admit the cups of coffee ARE a main element in your development life... :))
I had 1/2 cup of green tea today. The coffee was a bit deal in my development life, but I think it would shorten my physical life if I kept my consumption level that high.

I tend to hate hearing my recorded voice, but I gotta admit that my Burroughs imitation sounded pretty accurate to my ears upon playback.

Sean, speed reading your new UberDocs (Thank you!) while listening to your Home Recording Show interview while tweaking UberMod with a Warped Strings sample has given me the full dimensional perspective on UberMod I was missing. When will the headache pass?

BTW - you have a great speaking voice. No cringe worthy artifacts that require ubermodification.
