At $29.00 I would classify it as a no brainer. I love and use CSR. It's my go to reverb. Compare it to Valhallaroom.

I guess that makes it a .58 brainer.

If you're interested it's worth giving it a trial because audio demos aren't always representative of the sound in a mix. I don't find it to be grainy or muddy in a mix - quite the opposite compared to other verbs of a similar price that I've tried. It definitely isn't top end but then they cost five or more times the sale price of CSR.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Man, the demos on the site sound pretty grainy and muddy. However I like the reverbs in amplitude and sampletank so maybe they're just not great demos?

Hands down the smoothest algo verb available. No artifacts, just pure tweakable space. Only downside is x32 only. If and when it goes x64, true no-brainer at any price under $100.
After a long search, I have found the best x64 replacement for the CSR Hall is NI's Reflektor 'plain vanilla' patch. Yeah, I know it's IR, but the patch is treated in a way that gives it some authentic space.
Needless to say, eagerly awaiting the promised x64 version of CSR.
Cheers

I know this has the inherent quality factors a YouTube video would typically have, but for some other examples that aren't on the audio demos page, here's a CSR video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJuOWgYdOS4
This deal ends tomorrow too, just FYI http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/promos/?item_id=1417

Gave it a bit of a demo yesterday and for some instruments, it's not bad at all. Apparently the sale is still going, so might go for it after all. Super light on the cpu too.ObiK wrote:Last day (And chance) to get CSR in the Summer Strummer promo for this price!

In the 'Room' the Early Reflections are modulated, so that should be a 480 or 300? Does the 90/91 have modulated Early Reflections on the Ambience? Does spin/wander make the sound more chorussy on the PCM when the tail is turned down?antithesist wrote:PCM-90

Good questions, I was just posting the most likely truth based overall consensus by the reverb illuminati, an incomplete jigsaw puzzle of forum posts (many by the developer), and disregarding the conflicting marketing copy.cowudders wrote:In the 'Room' the Early Reflections are modulated, so that should be a 480 or 300? I expect to be blown away, if Mr. Warp puts in some of his perfected knowledge of those algorithms in some new IK release!
I just hope the modulation matrix doesn't get discarded, this still is unique in plug-in reverb land and incredibly useful.
