Everything else feels like it has extra 5 ms of latency after playing with Vandal

Low latency and great sound:

GreenMachine II (used to be payware now freeware)

Seriously give it a try!

Well here is another snivel. I wanted to download Amplitude for evaluating with all the other's i'm trying, i got fed up with having to register and install download manager and custom shop i just deleted it :x Everything else just installs to my VST folder without any fuss.

S-Gear , love it after a days tweaking :)
whaa-whaa

Someone get the baby...she's crying.

The Amplitube Free download and registration process [Authorization Manager] isn't that difficult. The Custom shop is essentially a part of Amplitube Free that allows you to choose only the gear that interests you and/or suits your purpose...if, and when, you feel you need more options.

You could try a little patience and effort.

But, I guess if someone gets fed-up and quits that easily and quickly, to begin with, they weren't overly determined.

Nothing to do with patience OR effort I don't want crap installed on my PC for a demo/tryout :nutter:

One more "vote" for these:

http://www.tseaudio.com/software.html

http://www.igniteamps.com/audio-plug-ins

and this: http://www.bteaudio.com/software/Juicy77/Juicy77.html

I use these for my distorted synths masturbations a lot. :hihi:

The thing is, I've tried many distortion plugins, but these sound really good and they're easy to mix with. Don't use much resources.

Guitar Rig? Amplitube?? not better, but they cost some dough, and use far more resources. 90% of them for graphics to make you think you're using "the real thing". Rubbish in my book. If you want the real thing, buy one. Or make one. www.groupdiy.com :hihi:

Outside of my affiliation and without bias I can at least say thank you for this I honestly have never tried this one, thanks sincerely for the heads up.

As for "why not let the users speak" and "you don't see other devs doing this" I have to say sorry but I am a user, have been for YEARS before joining IK (and have thousands of posts on KVR as a regular user to that fact and years of experience before KVR OR IK to back up my posts) so like it or not I'm both a long-time user and a rep of a company. I apologize if your favorite company representatives aren't gear/software fans enough to get behind their company's offerings, but I stand by my reputation here and my opinion goes way beyond my company affiliation and many here know that.

Edit - that said, I've said my bit clearly enough and will still have to watch the thread for other suggestions especially if there are some I haven't tried yet (though I'll try not to upset the little apple cart here any more).

Hmmmmmmmm...I never thought of demoing for evaluation a piece of software on my computer without actually installing it.

I'm considering raising that as a requested feature to IK Multimedia.

Erm you don't have to install anything for a VST, Mulabs, REAPER etc, just how it should be :) the perfect model.

Not to mention all those free ampsims from LePou, TSE, Nick Crow, Ignite Amps, are pretty much just drop-in your VST folder. Piece of cake. :)

I like the guitar rig puppetmaster setting too :)

Oh yes, and the "holy" simulanalog guitar suite. :) Still 1st class in my book. It is advisable to use it at 96kHz, though. Or maybe I'm just too paranoid. If it sounds good...
