One other thing: The plugin version does not seem to import mp3, or m4a. That cuts out a whole lot of experimental potential, for me.
It'd be a real shame to lose the SA, for all reasons given.

Have people really missed I posted the preview 2 build of the plugin? Should I have started another thread about that or something? (Among the changes for preview 2 of the plugin was allowing import of the other formats besides .wav.)el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:One other thing: The plugin version does not seem to import mp3, or m4a. I did miss it, but saw you mention it in response to the last post in the other thread.Xenakios wrote:Have people really missed I posted the preview 2 build of the plugin? i think the issue arises when people don't follow the link from their email, which normally sends them to the first reply after their last post, and instead just click from 'latest topics' to end up at the last post.
Sorry about the mixup

First, having only just discovered your work on this...thank you very much for taking on this update of a classic! Very much appreciated
One question, in the plug-in and original version....the 'stretch maximum' was more 'extreme', whereas I am seeing a '128' max value for 'stretch' in Paulstretch 3' (Mac)?
PaulXStretch goes to '1024' I believe? Is there a technical/conceptual reason for this, or option somewhere to set different multiplier that I am missing?
Thanks again for your talents and effort on this and PaulXStretch, and thanks in advance for any reply

No particular reason, I just decided to have the more extreme range in the plugin. I suppose I could make a build of the stand alone app with more stretch amount available...But there's been no other development on the stand alone app since I started working on the plugin.Loopy C wrote:Is there a technical/conceptual reason for this

Thanks for your reply.
If you do revisit standalone at some point, hopefully you might consider this in the future...after all, 'Extreme' stretching was the original's 'claim to fame' if I remember right (Justin Beiber stretched to 8 hours or 8 days or some such nonsense...can't quite remember now
I mainly make my request because of both the nice 'render to exact time' offline features of standalone and my own application to sometimes very short samples for sound design use where the extra 'overhead' is sometimes needed to reach final time.
Anyway, any consideration down the line is appreciated
Thanks again

For information, you only included the app in the Mac new download.
It maybe will surprise those who don't already have the AU version and would like to have it.

The plugin is a different project than the stand alone app discussed in this thread.Julien Unison wrote:For information, you only included the app in the Mac new download.

The previous download was also only 'Paulstretch3', are you thinking of 'PaulXStretch', which is the plug-in version he is currently developing (Paulstretch3 was on the back burner when I posted my remark, PaulXStretch is the AU/VSTversion). There is a whole other thread for it here:Julien Unison wrote:For information, you only included the app in the Mac new download.

I think I may have to do one more release of the stand alone app, I found an annoying bug related to the "tonal vs noise" module. Probably that release will be the final 3.0.0 version.
