in that case I'l include MATLAB - I use that for midi

And if you don't mind trackers try Psycle. Latest version is ace. Fully modular, multi outs for vst, multithreading supportet, up to 24/192 khz iirc, free (as in beer). Lots of included modules are cool too, esp fm synths.

Psycle is not only free as in beer, but also free as in speech, just so you know.

doesn't seem like a good bughunting deal to me
might as well wait to see final pricing 'cos
at the moment it's $80 dollars to play with a beta
and no knowing if one can afford full entry

I updated the pricing yesterday. $80 gets you a free upgrade to Version 1.0 when it's released.

If you want to skip the Beta stage, expect the finished product to be about $150.

I checked Zynewave's website for the first time in a long time. Still on release 3.1 from 2011.

Shame, I thought it was a really nice DAW with a lot of things going for it but I experienced a lot of crashes and felt it could have had a more polished looking GUI.
