congrats, I am thinking about it too. for 262 AUD i get max for live, all the extra instruments (operator, the aas stuff, sampler, lots of max stuff, etc) and the full orchestral collection. I can't see any way that that's anything other than amazing value. I think i am going to just have to put myself into hoc and get it, as i am totally tapped out right now but screw it. I can't find it on special at any reseller though as it would have been even better to save a few extra $$.
I'm starting to seriously consider using live more as before it was only the broken PDC holding me back (logic's is not much better lol) and now it's better than logic's, and it's not such a busy clusterfuck to use like Cubase 8 is.. it's just so simply to create and mix. Although i still can't believe i can't snap automation LOL (i know i know, there are workarounds to go into draw mode and draw on grid then delete middle points and the start and end points will be snapped).
Are you happy with your decision?

The amount of M4L content that ships in the Suite library and as separate downloads is crazy, there's a crapload of stuff - especially after Max 7 came out with new functionality and new devices.

Theo - yes
I've had Sampler on my want list for a couple of years now. Already have Operator(which I love for basses and keys). The other instruments are not all that compelling at the moment, though that could change now that I have them. As Nelson above points out above; the MAX stuff is amazing - I think of this device as next gen pieces of the puzzle.
This is the 8th yr I've been working with LIVE and it's about time to take the next step
peace

max is buggier version of Live's native devices. Most people don't give a shit because of this sadly. Users are FRing them to make native LFO, convolution rev and env follower.

iv'e never ever used live for external hardware synths.. can anyone tell me if it's easy to set up in that regard and can send midi timing info for tempo, and overall is the timing good?
