Question about Future Bass

Okay so I built my computer, bought FL, and have finally started producing music. I'm currently producing on average about 2 hours a day for four days now, but I did just move and start a new job so time has been a little tight. Here is a hardware list for those interested:
Two alesis monitors. Need to be replaced
Beats headphones. Need to be replaced
Focusrite interface , the smaller one that cost $150
Axiom 24 midi controller, the one with 8 knobs and pads.
I currently have a track of about 45 seconds in original content, which seems to me enough to fill out an entire 3-4 minute track. I originally started my track with a weird progression, and it reminded me of some of the future bass I listen to with a lot of VGM influence. I started it as a funky house track, then moved the bpm to 115 for a more laid back feel, then decided to move it up to around 135. Its definitely not dubstep, so I think my track should probably be considered future bass.
tldr I know a lot more about other genres than I do future bass, so any tips or tricks when it comes to producing this music? Not to sound like I want to be conventional, but sometimes knowing conventions sets you in the right direction.

Ok, so you're making some music. Congrats!
I sense though some insecurity. That's totally fine with under 10 hours on the tally.
But is that only about the genre? What a waste of energy... It is what it is: your first track! NO ONE cares about the style. That's SO NOT relevant. Yes you will take stylistic elements from this and that. What it becomes is UNIQUE. No reason to pigeon-hole...
Enjoy the trip!

You can move on to a new project Trying to classify your projects in a specific genre to finish them would only make it harder for you to finish the track and gain progress. If you really think that your project is worth spending time on, you can check what steps they usually take to produce a track in future bass, and apply the ideas you think that would fit your project (Though the techniques you will learn probably be more useful on your next project, and you will see that you can create more.)
