I wondered why that Drag Last Tweaked Parameter was there! Thanks for clearing that one up :D

Post

That must be one of the most widely known bass lines in modern history :D Hard to screw that up, no matter how ugly the bass sound is

Not that it was important to me, but why is it not possible to drag any parameter directly to the front panel? Why that last tweaked thingy?

Post

because third party plugins cant be handled like that... the only reason that they work like in the tutorial is because they conform to a VST spec.

Excellent! Thank you! Please keep them coming!

i assigned a key to the 'drag last...' command but it doesn't seem to work, I figure i don't know what I'm doing :) but any tutorials on customizing key commands and shortcuts would be welcome.

First of all, the important thing about key shortcuts is the keyboard focus.

Now i assume you're talking about MUX Vst, right? In that case keyboard focus is a bit more unclear, unfortunately, because it also depends on the vst editor. It's on the wishlist to research this further.

Kind of related, I just tried that option to use the generic editor on two VSTs. I suppose that feature does not make much sense with most VSTs as their own graphical interfaces are usually more intuitive and legible than a window full of almost identical parameter knobs arranged without any obvious system. With one VST (Tal Elektro) it doesn't even show any values.
Just saying... :)

I think it depends on the VST, some like Diva just have way too many controls to make it worthwhile to use the generic one, but some (like Lounge Lizard which I'm working with right now) that have multiple pages but not many controls, it becomes quick work to drag parameters to the main page without having to use the menu command. So it depends, and like you say some may not display anything. But it also may reveal controls that aren't seen otherwise in some plugins.
