hey guys, im running mulab 6, i have an Alesis SR-16 drum machine. I want to experiment with Midi and would like to midi the machine to the daw, and use it as a controller/trigger to sequence and use the pads etc. Ive have previously attemped this, (Got midi usb cable), got halfway through the process...i could trigger sounds on the daw, but not actually sequence the note to the grid.....please help.

1. MuLab -> MIDI Setup (if you've not done that before)
2. Insert the instrument track you want to record (if you've not done that)
3. Right-click the record button, hit "Setup Event Recording", check the "Record Events" is enabled (red) and the other settings are as you want
4. Click the record button and, once the count down has counted down, play the instrument
5. Click the play/stop button to stop recording
That should give you a newly recorded sequence part in the instrument track targeting the instrument you played.
