Switches to control Parameters?

Is it possible to have a switch control parameters with narrow control ranges, e.g., on/off? Could this be faked with a knob with only two frames? Is there something missing in my understanding that this is possible now with built in modules?
tnx

I didn't look at Taifunk's example, but you could also use
an audio envelope follower. They put out a single note on or off.
Then just convert the note to modulation.
So whenever the sound is playing the parameter is on and vice versa.
So the sound generators on-off button becomes your toggle switch.
If you ever are having a hard time getting a parameter to behave
as you want, remember to try the converters. You can use them
in conjunction with each other to make a parameter do pretty
much what ever you want.

While I'm thinking about this. Is there a way to send a specific patch change event to a plugin in a mux patch? It's ok if you can't map names, just having the ability to map buttons to patches would be better than nothing. However, that would be a great feature if it's not there. A patch module that takes a modulation parameter. I suppose this could be done with Reaktor. If it's not possible in mux, I'll try that route.
