If you are wanting to make tracks like Avicci maybe you should have asked for the formula for EDM, he wouldnt know house music if it sat on his overpaid face

agreed, Hip-Hop is usually simpler than House cause most producers just grab a sample and throw some drums on it.
But some are very creative with samples though. Using automated Filters etc.
Some don't add anything from themselves which is sad but i'm not like that.

I think you will find that EDM is an umbrella marketing term that's been around for a couple of years, house music has been around for decades
