I'am dissapointed

I'am dissapointed that almost all synths i know don't sound real, like analo synths, i affort very much, master my songs, compress the synths and add effects like echo, reverb and flanger and delay and they still don't sound like released psytrance songs at all, but for example the aoudiorealism bassline through it's sequenzer sounds very well, i did a song with it and other synths, mastered everything and ABL sounds well and like the real synth in the song, but it is hopeless with all the other synths so i'am wondering if only TB303 emulations like ABL and phoscyon sound like real instruments?

Yes, that's correct, you've already found the two virtual instruments that sound real.

Than i have to be creative and have to figure out how to make basslines and leads with high octaves with ABL, because i have just the demo of phoscyon, it´s really sad but true.PaulSC wrote:Yes, that's correct, you've already found the two virtual instruments that sound real.

if he can't afford korg polysix, he obviously can't afford a real analogue synth as wellaaalllvor wrote:Get a real analogue synth then. Problem solved..

scuse me for being presumptuous, but i'm going to guess you arrived at electornic music in digital..
guy 'kilo' at dancetech.com says that if he taught a school for this, the first year you would only make tracks with mixing and eq.. no effects.
digital synths can be very 'pure,' which was a great ocntrast back in the old days, but if you come up in it it can sound boring, plain - learn to make parts work together, then learn to add effects..
..or do it the other way aorund, really.. point is, break it down into secitons.
if your music doesn't sing, don't blame the instrument. old hands will generally attest 'very true.'
all this new digital stuf kicks ass. respect the art.. take time to discover subtleties. don't expect it to spring to life under a new hand..

I can´t understand why people like some virtual synths, if i hear the very old psychedelic trance sets and compare my synths with the sound of that synths i always notice that virtual synths ALWAYS deviate from the note they should play, have you never noticed it? You can´t notice it when you listen just to your synthpresets but listen to your synths after hearing something with real analog synths and you´ll see what i mean definetly. the other problem is that the synths aren´t full, if i wanat a full sound i must reduce resonance but the real synths aren´t like that, they can sound full and have a good resonance. The next problem is that all virtual synths i heard except phoscyon and ABl sound simulated, i can count another 100 things, damn why the TB303´s sound well and all other synths sound like crap?
