Dirthead 0.61 - new gui, new sound

Hi,
Finally an update to my dirthead amp sim plugin:


New in 0.6:
- new GUI
- new oversampling filters
- completely redesigned preamp stages
- altered Tonestack and Poweramp
- new Cabinet emulation (alpha)
- some bug fixes

I personally think that this version is closer to the real thing than the old one, it's still not perfect though. Especially the cabsim is still a work in progress, however this new version should work much better with IRs compared to 0.21.

Dirthead now has a simple website with a donate button (hint, hint ), too.
However, here's the direct download link, for your convenience.

Hi Niko,

when there is no audio input or input level is at zero,
cpu jumps to 99% and locks up.
(P4 2ghz xp sp2 Host Chainer)

Otherwise good sound.
The bass has a strange curve,
better add a HP to taim it.

Same here - Intel Core2Duo 2.0GHz - very nice sounding piece of kit - very cool GUI. I get a redline condition in my CPU meter in Tracktion 3.0.3.3 when there is no signal being sent to the plug.

Your fix is perfect - runs like a charm now! How about some more presets - the ones you've supplied are really nice!

I tried it out, sounds great. Was going to A/B it with the old version, the old version was super high on the CPU, doesn't matter, the new version suits me fine.

I had a quick try of this plug and its great!...nice work...

I have been using Simulanalog GSuite for distortion which is great too if you use the plugs in the right order....(I sold my toneport because of these plugs)...

Compared to GSuite Im finding it a bit harder to get the signal noise under control with a noise gate but I need to tweak the settings a bit more to check..

anyway, great job!
