a truthful man is hard to find
at the coastguard dock
we cast our shadows into the water like so many lines
and you said a truthful man is hard to find
so i reeled up my shadow and threw myself in
because i'm too small for you
all the men who loved me
they're sinking to the floor
they're corks of bottles
filled with shipwrecks
they keep the ocean water out
they're notes that float to you
as i swim away
at the coastguard dock
we cast our shadows into the water like so many lines
and you said a truthful man is hard to find
so i reeled up my shadow and threw myself in
because i'm too small for you
all the men who loved me
they're sinking to the floor
they're corks of bottles
filled with shipwrecks
they keep the ocean water out
they're notes that float to you
as i swim away

I like the track, but wish you were singing a little less indy-rock whisper.

i like it, mate! I like the lofi/detuned thing youre doing. I love how it morphs into a low, ambient tone at the end. Sweep of dry/wetting setting on reverb with an LP filter?
Suggestions? the vocals are a bit loud for my tastes, but I often think that about songs. Methinks you should compress it a bit more, so it doesnt get so loud at 0:42. Also, I think reverse reverb would sound killer on the vocals.
Edit- this is my favorite track you have ever made. It's been on repeat for about 10 minutes. it does that thing where it sets a unique atmosphere that you dont want to leave.
Edit 2 - you are way to hard on yourself when it comes to your more sensitive works.

yeah, that's exactly what the end is, reverb and filter sweep. thanks for the suggestions. i'll check the levels and experiment with the reverb.Chase wrote:i like it, mate! HAHAHA - this is a great thread, and a good song.
Although, I'm starting to miss your more rocked-out moments.
