Hi all,
How make a warm and long long sustained electric guitar sound?
Something like Mike Oldfield on "Incantations" album, eg.
I use Chainer. What is the proper effects chain: compression + eq + distortion + reverb... or what (possibly with free plug-in)?
I'd really appreciate your advice!

Hi, not strictly about software plugins, but there may be some help for you here: http://tubular.net/forums/ikonboard.cgi?act=SF;f=3ellin wrote:Hi all,

I would say use a guitar with humbuckers and use either the neck or middle (if you have it) pickup. Some finger tremolo helps with the sustain, or if you want tons of sustain you could always go the eBow route.
Try various distortion plugs as they can all give differing amounts of sustain.
A little delay (play around with the settings a bit) might help too.
