http://www.myguitaronline.com/tunes/100 ... _Beats.ogg
EDIT: I fixed the link - Scoops
EDIT 2: Download instructions, if you cant download it then right click and chose saves as, i it still dont work add .ogg to the end of the file.
Thanks scoops.
I will let this link anyway, just in case anyone prefers it.

Basically this is Reaper plus some freeware: Gryzzly, GTG DPC 3, Digidrum Pro, Optik and free KorePlayer for the mallets instrument.
It is not on par with the others submissions, so comments (somewhere else) on how to improve the mix and such would be much appreciated (this is actually my first finished composition of a overall small experience).
Anyway I had a lot of fun doing this and I have learned a lot.
I dont know if it fits any genre, I just tried something that I like and think it is good enough, but I must say that it sounds a bit orphan IMO.

Warning, it's kind of loud and Amen-rich. I kept it short to give you non-dnb heads a better chance to sit through it
core - one day 1.38 min (192kbit .mp3)
Used lots of drum samples, and glockenspiel for the melodic stuff. The bass-ish sound is from 808 kick drum samples.

Pushing Up Daisies
Every sound was recorded live, or played with a Roland Pad-5 midi trigger into a synth using percussion samples. Pitch correction was then used to repitch some of the effects.

Not my thing, I'm afraid, this month.
As you probably know by now, I'm not happy without being able to attempt to play the real instruments.
Anyway, this is all VST's except for the bodhran.

Ode To Whiskey
The late Derek Bell, of The Chieftains, often played a hammered dulcimer which he referred to as a tiompán.
I've tried to simulate the sound of this instrument by playing a tune from the 17th century harpist Turlough O'Carolan. I have added accompaniment of Vibraphone, Xylophone, Marimba and Glockenspiel, backed up by a Bodhran. All very traditional except that I'm afraid they are all, bar the bodhran, virtual instruments.

Just a quick little ditty then. It's called Hammer after the only sound source used (the one by Dougall M. Irving)

Insomnia
I used the sounds that I recorded on the microphone only:
- vocals (main, bass, sighs)
- blows my fingers on the lamp
- beats pen and pencil on the lamp
- squeaks lamp holder
- rustle package
- pouring water
- strokes on the keyboard
- opening and closing an umbrella
- blow handle the cups, etc.
I used this soft: Sounde Forge, Reaper 3, AD Eos, IL Slisex, Korg MDE-X, Celemony Melodyne Editor, Izotope Mastering Limiter
Lyrics (translated from Russian by google)
In this house
A lot of thin walls
And me at night
Everything is audible without problems
How do I go to sleep
For the third time he went
I can not
That I still listen
Went up
I opened the Internet
But sites
I am not familiar nicknames
How do I go to sleep
Here's the fourth time he went
I can not
That I still listen
The mixture is heated
With the noise in the kettle of water
Drink one short drink
Cups, two, maybe three
How do I go to sleep
For the fifth time he went
I can not
That I still listen
That morning
I crawled into my bed
Last minute
It will alarm trill
In this house
A lot of thin walls
And me at night
Everything is audible without problems
In this house...

I took this as an opportunity to introduce a rare Indian musical instrument called Jala Tarang.
Jala means water and Tarang means ripples. These are cups filled with water in varying measures. Sticks are used to extract the musical patterns accompanied by the Tabla (Indian Drums). I am giving here an example from you tube for those interested in knowing how a professional does it. Mine is pure savagery compared to the real musicians performance. But I am here for fun. The you tube url is :

My entry titled Jala Tarang is here.

Well I'm not at all sure if I should enter this at all. As I bleated on 'gossip' earlier it is sort of un-developed since last year, so if that means I get an anti-boot, and negative votes so be it
I know it has potential, but it seems it has to wait a few more years (decades?) before I'll be able to do anything with it
Oh well...
Here it is:

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!
