Well he can get Vienna Special Edition bundles to get everything, then he could mix&match with WIVI to get an even thicker sound.

- maybe it would be a bit more reasonable to "simply" add an orchestral percussion lib like some dedicated vienna stuff ??

Miroslav philharmonik is very dated now and based on 15-ish year old sampling, so to be honest, it's probably one of the least attractive options out there, unless you a) - can get it very cheap (I think some Canadian store was selling it for $99 recently) and you b) - just want to play around with some orchestral sounds, it's not really worth it.
Good quality sampled orchestra instruments don't come cheap so it really depends on your budget?
