My basic settings here are (even if it depends also the way you play and your keyboard dynamic curve):

AttkSens 5
Body modeling ON
Smart legato ON
Velocity Vol 3
Modwhl Vol 2

And then trying to play the keyboard as if it were a violin
Basically I always used smooth articulation (only one pizzicato at the very end) with quite all accent styles from PP to FF

Very good job indeed!
And great idea with video :D
I recall Nathan Milstein name, outstanding russian-american-jewish violinist. I had his old russian recordings.

O. Novacek - Perpetuum Mobile

This demo is interesting for people interested in repetition notes solving by KH libraries.
I'm basically a pianist so this one suite me better. I used an external piano (pianoteq, hope this is permitted) and Solo Division Violin 1 from Concert Strings II library. Still in Kontakt player demo mode so I had to reload and re-set the instrument every 15 minutes

Cheers
Wow, that's impressive. Great job.

Using a piano from another library -- or live piano -- is completely fine for the contest. The requirement is that entries must use ONLY Kirk Hunter Studios libraries for strings, brass and woodwinds. Everything else can be from another library or live instruments.

Thank you for the kind words guys!
Happy that the piano is permitted and keep up the good work!

It is not for contest, because it's too short - piece is only 22", so it's only piece of piece :-)
I had only 4 hours of free time in studio (my wife thinks it was only 1 hour, because it's so many things to do before Christmas!!)
So only for joy:

CSII, CBII, Diamond

Nice piece of piece, you're tempting me to get CBII :)

That was really enjoyable! Care to go into the specifics on which instruments you used from each library?

Encore! Encore! I want more! That was very good.

I say you should continue this piece! It's a great start if you want to make it longer.

It is eligible. I just want more! :D

I have so many ideas about how you could continue that piece :D:D:D:D

(and then the flutes comes in---stereo trumpets on the right while french horns come in from the left. Then orchestral hits, etc. etc.)

Thanks guys!!
:-) :-)
I have next parts in my mind, but I'm afraid I have no time to work on it next days.. :-(

Hi Everyone,

Here's my entry: an original string quartet work using Kirk Hunter Solo Strings 2, composed for this contest.

Echoes of Intent
http://soundcloud.com/peterhud/echoes-of-intent

The name describes the mood and some of the musical features, but also what I seem to end up producing whenever I start out trying to compose with something specific in mind!

I really enjoyed listening to all the other submissions - wouldn't want to be a judge!

Peter

Very nice work, Peter! I'll activate your links by quoting your post.

To everyone else:
