I am not so sure its the best sounding synth in its class although yeah theres a ton of presets available but not all of them are good. Actually there's a lot of duplication going on.C-note wrote:
Sylenth is the best sounding synth in it's class. Does NOT have: the most features - no PWM (there is a work aroound), the most mod sources, the best gui - but absolutely the best sound. Sylenth has more sound sets created for it than any other synth - WHY? Sound designers obviously love the sound and know the market is there to sell their creations, because so many musicians love Sylenth.
Just like there's a lot of producers who want to sound the same as everyone else. Not always a hallmark of quality.
Albino has a huge set of presets too and imo they are more varied than the stuff coming from Sylenth.

Well of course Sylenth may not sound as good to you, but since this is a Sylenth praise thread I definitely have no problem giving Lennard and his creation props.aquar wrote:I am not so sure its the best sounding synth in its class although yeah theres a ton of presets available but not all of them are good. How many Sylenth sound banks do you have to make the assumption there is "a lot of duplication going on"?
The four factory banks are excellent and my favorite third party so far are: all the Vengeance stuff, Xenos, Vstsoundbanks, Plughugger Rough/Dark Horse, Rob Lee, Le Lotus Bleu, Bluffmunkey Bank A and Arksun that I can think of right now.
I would also challenge your assumption that: "a lot of producers want to sound the same as everyone else" Who, with even a small amount of talent would want to sound exactly like someone else? In interview after interview the top producers describe how they work hard to come up with unique sounds.

Really I can't understand who sell his hardware for soft synth though I much like soft synth that cause *various of sound. Various is big for me. But If I choose top one or three, I will choose hardware.BFunKu wrote:Sylenth1 is my favorite Synth also. I sold my Access Virus Indigo when Sylenth1 first came out because Sylenth1 sounds as good if not better than it did.

In my case is Portability, flexibility, fun and $ conversion from one synth to many wonderful soft synths.debby wrote:Really I can't understand who sell his hardware for soft synth though I much like soft synth that cause *various of sound. Well you made the following statement.
"Sylenth has more sound sets created for it than any other synth"
Am I or others supposed to be impressed with that? or take it as some kind of seal of approval that Sylenth is therefore better than other synths that don't have a huge catalogue of presets?
That doesn't sound quite right to me.
Sure there's some cool banks by top designers. Youv'e listed a handful of them.
I still maintain there's hell of a lot of producers out their that want to sound the same as others. In more than some cases exactly the same.
I mean there's a ton of threads on the net asking how to produce to a formula or replicate signiture sounds of other artists.
But hey thats how I see it and you don't have to agree with me anymore than I have to agree with your myopic opinion.
Have a nice day.

Don't honestly know about Sylenth but I would be surprised if that wasn't actually Synth1. Vanguard also has a huge number of preset banks.aquar wrote:

You still haven't answered me - do you own Sylenth and the numerous sound banks you say are duplicated?aquar wrote:C-note wrote:

But are these requestors "Top Producers" ? No, most top producers have teams that figure that stuff out...

I used to own Slyenth and when I first got it I was very impressed but that was a while back and the Synth hasn't evolved so I lost interest.C-note wrote: You still haven't answered me - do you own Sylenth and the numerous sound banks you say are duplicated?

I punted it to my nephew and upgraded to Dune which quite honestly has far more sonic scope for my purposes.
My nephew purchases Sylenth banks on a regular basis and to me they all sound the same. (not that he thinks so) It doesn't take much to figure out you can purchase a few banks load up the presets tweak a few dials and call those presets new. I think there's a lot of that going on but its impossible to prove it.
Oh I really don't know what a top producer is anymore so its a bit difficult to answer that one. I just know that every man and their dog claim to be top producers.
Claim being the operative word.
