Wonderful doc. It was very well done, a cut way above the usual rock doc. And they hid Alex Lifesons bald spot very well too. Funnily enough I watched a Yes one a couple of nights later (I think celebrating their 35th ani). Awful. One bit of vintage footage and the band basically rambling on about how Yes has a revolving door policy for what seemed like hours... ---- ()_() (O.o) (")(") |

Do you have the Ultimate Edition (or whatever it's called) on Blu-ray? It has all of the different versions on it, including the original theatrical version. ---- "Be excellent to each other." War of the Worlds on blu ray. Since everyone else is re-releasing their movies in 3D, I can't think of a better Spielberg movie than this for 3D.
Just looking on Netflix and there seems to be a ton of music stuff: Queen: Rock Montreal & Live Aid Pink Floyd: The Making of Dark Side of the Moon Queen: The Making of A Night At The Opera ELO: Out Of THe Blue Live at Wembley Too too much to list, but Netflix is a rock doc/concert dream. |

Oh dear no, I have DTV. If it doesn't come out on DTV, chances are I won't see it. |

I got a little lost when they released the 'final cut' a while back. I think there was an unltimate edition in a briefcase with every version *ever*, I got the tin with four or five versions (haven't got it to hand), original theatrical, workprint(?), international, directors cut (without narration etc) and the final cut with jazzed up effects (nicely done). And I can't say hand on heart I've watched them all. I was just old enough to get into the cinema to see it when it first came out so I guess I have a fondness for that version, narration/happy ending and all. ---- ()_() (O.o) (")(") |

Ah, so you are saying there is a not happy ending?
I tried to watch it w/o the narration once and it was tough. I don't know how it would have been if that would have been the first way I saw it though. BladeRunner was playing when I turned 17 so I got to see it on my birthday. I was of course, mesmerized. |

Depends which version you're watching... Same here; I can't say how much sense a lot of it would have made if I hadn't heard the narration first so can't really say for sure it's a 'bad thing'. I must have been 13, it was an 'AA' cert (you could see it at 14 if accompanied by an adult). Remember my dad grumbling at having to pay full price for me. ---- ()_() (O.o) (")(") |

Hun. I don't remember there being a different ending.
I'll have to look into that. |
