If that's the case, then we toss Nemesis out the window, too. Actually, anything after The Voyage Home (I have a soft spot for that movie I've only seen Generations once, First Contact far too many times (three? four?), and Nemesis once. Oh, yeah, wasn't there another one in there somwhere? (Sorry, Star Trek women just DON'T talk about their boobs onscreen ---- "Be excellent to each other." Oh yeah.......I'm also recording "star trek"
I've only seen it once, didn't like most of it, and want to watch it again. The problem is it's on "fx" and that means commercials, and that means parts will be cut out (and I don't know which |

I think FX has become the "Star Trek 2009" channel. I liked it better on second watching. I have it on Blu-ray (it came with all of the delta badges). I still have problems with it, but it's sufferable. ---- "Be excellent to each other." There's been a sequel. Two of them in fact. They're books, but were written by Philip K Dick's protege, K.W. Jeter. Apparently it's up to three. Quote: Blade Runner 4: Eye and Talon is the third book to continue the storyline of the film Blade Runner. It was written by K. W. Jeter and published in 2000 by Gollancz.
Have the first one but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Despite being over a decade old, for some reason BR4 doesn't seem to be mentioned much. Maybe he should have stopped at two. I have all three, and Eye and Talon isnt really a sequel to BR, which is why I made the distinction; its more of an additional story in the same setting. moving house is great for some reasons, going through all my stuff and found my "bladerunner" annual still remember the christmas i received it ![]() ---- look for the true freak label. do not!feed the vampyr. click link to hear the sounds of vurt coming into your ears |

I watched Doctor Who from 1965 on Netflix. Didn't recognize the Dr. He had a girl with a Sandra Dee hairdo and a Scottish guy in a kilt with him. I didn't like it but have to say, production values were light years ahead of American TV at the time. Some of the synth effects and video effects were stunning for the time. The start was this flowing vortex that slowly morphed into the doctor's face. I can only imagine what it looked like in color. Next ones are from 1974. That should be a treat. |

I got quite engrossed in it, not enough of a trekkie (sorry) to really care about changes/blasphemes etc. However, it did have some major dramatic problems, I mean, how Kirk just got onto the bridge, took charge etc etc and everyone (including seasoned officers I guess) just let him... And then giving him the captaincy at the end without evening graduating? Reminded me of those games you play as a kid where nothing makes much sense but you just cram all the cool stuff in. And that enterprise could do with polarizing filters or something on the windows, so much lens flare... But enough: In Confidence: John Lydon On Sky Arts in the uk, don't know where else. Basically a celeb gets a grilling from a psych (I think). Came across as a totally straight up guy, sure, loads of little foibles but nothing you'd hate him for. ---- ()_() (O.o) (")(") |

My issue with it the first time around (it's actually recording this weekend so haven't seen it yet) was the characters. Yes, the kirk thing was like WHAAAAAAATTTTTT? But Scottie was overblown, And the romulans looked funny (almost like someone forgot that nemisis was the last movie......boring)
Other things that bugged me.....how many f'n shuttle craft? Really? I mean the ships are big but they are not THAT big. |

I like the way they moved away from endless corridors of previous Enterprises but, well, it was all a bit industrial wasn't it? More like an oil refinery than a starship.
Yeah, Simon Pegg definitley layed it on heavy. He was obviously having a ball though... Whereas the Chekov guy I thought was great. Sure, young and hyper but you really felt for him when he couldn't get a lock on... whoever it was (spocks mum?) ---- ()_() (O.o) (")(") |

I LOVED it. Yes, the lens flares were too much, but I loved the dirt. The shuttle looked like it was actually used, nit a piece of molded plastic. Yes, REAL interiors. Loved the huge brewery/switchboard he snatched Uhuru out of. Hoping to eventually see a 24th century toilet.....
