All I'm hearing is auto tune.
Nicely mixed though, I guess. |

Yep, autotuned the human out of this one. It was cool when it was done for Cher. But not since.

like its a mistake?
Auto tune was intended and deliberate obviously, to each his own, no rules to artistic choice. Opinions are welcomed but just to add I had way more positives mentioned to this tracks use of the 'auto tune' that far out numbers any negatives posted here @ KVR. I feel great about disappointing some people lol if they gotta be al that dogmatic on how others should be using autotune like some high priests of autotune cause notice how they cant help but mention the autotune misuse ar ar ..why not just walk away? like the many who have heard it an not said a thing? |

I think it's a pretty musical track, for its kind. As far as an artistic decision, don't kid a kidder, it's a commercial move. I've notice things such as a Katy Perry record that for a certain market, 'urban radio' has it. A whole lot of people are beyond sick of that sound. If she can sing those notes with her own voice, it isn't adding anything but an effect we've all heard before. But you can't tell if a 'singer' can sing a note these days.
I think it would be better without it. I liked the rhythm tracks as far as I got, and I think the melody is decent, but I'm not into hearing that anywhere, let alone going out of my way to. welcome to the world of opinions that aren't yours, you know. KVR seems an odd place to place something so radio-friendly, made to be *product*. "I feel great about disappointing people lol" is kinda sad. Never noticed you around before... Surprised to see a diss of *the Cher effect* here? Yeah, no. "Lose Myself". 'Loose' is prounounced with a hard 's' and is a different word than 'lose'; in a sentence: 'They let loose the animals in the zoo'. |

sorry I'm not understanding what it is your not hearing, the melody? as far as the effect , it was voted in by 3 more then me to be used for this. not like it was intended for market or as some sort of commercial standard, its a hand out and no real engineer ever touched it. I shouldn't even argue about the use of this effect really, it was a classic add and it was well excepted & loved by some of our fans - anyway, I chose to send post it up as a contribution to the music cafe thread..I could have chose other ones that have raw vocal talent but I went with what was sitting on my folder as a recent release. not to compete or garner any praise, but I had to reply seeing it was so popular an effect to talk about here..I guess it does matter where you present your craft ..and this place changes from time to time so I don't know what is the preferred or acceptable shares in these forums. anyway thanks for the comment |
