Also, please look around at my new web site to see what interesting things may be on offer and remember to sign up for the newsletter.
This is a concept album recording of a musical I have been working on. The vocals was recorded at the Studio Pros in Los Angeles and the final CD was recorded, mixed and engineered in my Studio in South Africa.

Released my first album on bandcamp. Songs composed and sung by my friend Ali, vocals recorded in 2001, and over the last decade I've used my very limited spare time to attempt to add some backing tracks to them. Genre is broadly blues. Stream it for free here: From Jerusalem to Rome

My Citron EP was just reviewed on theequalground.com (since re-branded as divideandconquer, which I feel is both ironic and appropriate)
It can be found here:-

Gossip gossip. Pst, over here. I have some new tunes. 21 to be exact...
I present to you, FRIENDS. A 21 track album I made with the collaborative help of my (who knew) friends.
There is silver lining written on the wall everywhere...
Enjoy.

I guess this was a surprise for you, but I had known about this for almost 2 yearsFrantz wrote:I thought I was up-to-date on all seismic activity but this album came out of nowhere.seismic1 wrote:Occultation by Whatsisname
The album titles that you see in the mp3 tags on Soundcloud are really just container ids for my use. When I make these tracks I just assign them to a notional album title until I have enough tracks to fill an archive CD which I give a title to and then move on to the next one. They were never intended for release in that original collection, but having those "albums" helps to provide me with a cataloging system. A couple of years ago my label at the time asked me for an album, and this is it. Although the tracks on here have been remixed at least once more since then. It was great to finally complete this.
I think it's a more consistent and stronger set of tunes than my earlier EPs. My favourite track is "Divide and Conquer" It's quite dense and there are lots of seemingly disparate elements in there, but it should make more sense after a few listens.Frantz wrote: On first listen, the mellotron-heavy "Omen" and poppy arp-fest of "Wave Goodbye" both jumped out as immediate favorites.
The overall impression is very favorable and will be giving it more spins later. A solid piece of work.

OK, I will stop reserving space for "Concert Rust" on my CD rack.seismic1 wrote:The album titles that you see in the mp3 tags on Soundcloud are really just container ids for my use.
I listened to the album again today. "Waves" emerged as another favorite but there isn't a weak track on the album. Lots of great compositions. The mixes are excellent. Some of it is reminiscent of early 80s TD which is a plus in my book.
The only slight letdown for me is the digital nature of many of the synths used where the sound doesn't vary much from note to note. Perhaps if I pester you enough, you will change synths just to shut me up.
Overall, fantastic job on this Seismic!
