I did a forum search…don't see it mentioned anywhere…purchased a copy my self…okay so the glitch school is one thing but this is so comprehensive and deep for the experimental slicer and chopper…cracking graphics/UI, tons of control which allows you to be rigid so its not all chaotic.Seems to be a great beat/rhythm/sound making tool…not to mention a lot of fun.

As useless as any other glitch/stutter effects. And not to mention, at least 10 years late.

10 years late? Let me see: looping (1940s locked grooves), reverse playback (same period), chopping audio (wire recording, then tape 30s-40s), random editing and/or playback of audio snippets (John Cage, Takemitsu, Stockhausen, etc, etc, etc 1950s onwards), sequencing (player piano 19th C.), using chance and computer software to create computer music (1950s). Being able to do all that on your lap while taking a dump? 2014.

Yes. 10 years late. The sound of glitch apps died at least 10 years ago. You're confusing crafts with glitch apps.

There is no single sound, this is a tool. You can make it sound different from the rest by using your imagination, pushing it, using your own sounds/samples/recordings. But I don't want to argue over such a stupid thing. OK, it's 10 years late. Anything else you want to save us from bothering with?

It's pretty cool app. You can lock slices in place. Let's a snare on 2 & 4 and then pretty let it go on it's own for everything else.
Stuck in Aperture Laboratories for a 2nd time!

I agree glitch apps/sounds can be totally useless. But Ned Bouhalassa has a good point. Such tools can be used in a creative way. Composers of old would have made something nice out of this app.
Let us admit, we're spoiled and overfed. Load your own field recordings into Sector, or feed live audio into it (not possible right now, but it's announced in an update). Be creative! Sector may be a valuable tool.

But this goes for every tool/app effect. Be creative. Sure.
You still can't get around that most people will use Sector to make that glitch effect sound. And yes, there is such a sound. Just take a look at the demo videos or sound examples people are posting. No matter if you use your own samples or not.
Turnado is another similar example. I'll bet that sector will be forgotten just as fast.

Great if it works for you. You should be happy. No one has said anything against that. Bleeding moron.mooninjune wrote:Great app. I'm loving it.
