I am currently using Windows XP and keep getting the new Maschine Expansions and I cant install them because the installer says "Windows 7 or higher". I have heard of people using Appverifier to fake the installer into thinking they are using Windows 7. Does anybody know how to do this or know how its done? I could really use some help since I cant afford a new CPU right now. Thanks.

Install Appverifier and then open command prompt and enter this command:

Code: Select all

appverif -enable HighVersionLie -for "Maschine Setup.exe"
Maschine Setup.exe is just an example, you can obtain the exact name of the .exe that you must fool looking at the task manager while you receive the error message during installation.

Then launch install.

I recommend that you run

Code: Select all

appverif -disable HighVersionLie -for "Maschine Setup.exe"
after everything has been installed right. I once installed a program whose installer was named simply 'setup.exe'. After enabling the hack for it, Chrome was unable to update if I didn't reverse the hack because it uses an installer named 'setup.exe' too. During the update it was looking for files in locations that don't exist on XP.
