Ok, the "official" word is june to july. That gives me plenty of time to save up. Seriously considering at 100usd down and the rest on shipping.hibidy wrote:So May to June is the estimate. If I knew it was June, I'd plunk a down payment and save up for it.

Love the discussion. I've been a guitar player for 30 years, but mostly classical guitar and big band jazz, pluss the occasional house band @ work. I really want to get better at fusion guitar and love players like Lee Ritenour, Larry Coryell, Russ Freeman, John McLaughlin (saw him live last year! Wow!!!) just to mention a few. And I'm a shred fan, really love Steve Vai, Satch, Petrucci.
I have a beautiful Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette from 1990 which is still my main instrument.
I've previously had two Yamaha SG2000 guitars (both from around 1980-ish) which I loved but which were a bit heavy for my back so they had to go.
I'm really in purchase mode now, more for the thrill of getting a new guitar than anything else, but I want something that looks stunning and plays well.
I have been scouting guitars like a PRS Singlecut model. But I checked out the PRS Tremonti SE Custom model which completely rocks. I was amazed at the build quality at that price level. The new model has the birds, too.
While I may still go for a second hand American PRS (I love my guitars used), the Tremonti SE is starting to itch my cash genes.

"oh no you diant....."
OH yes I did!
http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/u_eg_p ... color=CL02
It's really more of a rustish/almost rootbeer tinge to it, it's certainly not that orange. I'll have pics tomorrow, too late here.
I know, another ibanez. Well, I've been interested in these since they came out at namm. I really wanted one with an original edge. It really sounds great. The neck is the smallest/thinest ibanez neck I've ever played. Biggest surprise so far is how good the middle pickup sounds. Usually the middle pickups sound lame and I wasn't sure I wanted that, but it's killer!
It's too early to give it the seal of approval, but so far it's been a joy to play.
