around with the vents, and discovered they were all closed. When we got them all open it was like, wow! It's great now, and even the truck seems to run better, lol!
One ray of light in an otherwise terrible weekend.
2500 bucks?????????? Wow, that seems really steep.
It was a cumulative thing - with the old system, I took it to a place to get the freon recharged.
On the way home, I noticed there seemed to be no difference in cooling. So I took it back, and
finally they determined there was a leak and they were unable to fix it. But I still had to pay for the freon.
Took it to the dealer (GMC) and of course, it was a very expensive hose. They were able to fix it and put more freon in.
But of course, they informed me, the compressor was bad. Good on them, they suggested I take it to an indie shop, as the GM part was really expensive.
So I took it to another shop, and just the price on the compressor was $1500!
So yeah, expensive but an absolute necessity.
