Daft Punk - Superheroes... Can you share any tips how to achieve that fat bass on the kick that starts at the beginning? I tried some distortion on 808,909 but without a result.... That kick is so unique, I've never heard anything similar... I think this is quite hard question, but I trust you

Sounds like a fairly bread-and-butter kick sample with gate reverb on it, which is what gives it the "fat" part, I think.

Indeed, it's just a fairly basic kick, most likely a processed (heavily compressed with some sharp attacks) and then some reverb with a gate at the end of the chain to kill the reverb. Gated reverb snares were all the rage in the 80s

Oh thank you guys so it was fairly simple... I have gaps with using reverbs on elements holding bass... I know that stuff with gated reverb snares, they're pretty common for 80s and I made my own samples too... Anyway - I put some Renaissance Reverb on 909 kick and voila! I got pretty close Thanks for help

Also note the way it pitches first down, then up again.. so it's probably a combination of several samples. It goes Booouuwwwuuuuuup!

So I tried to remake the kick with advice give here, but I wasn't close enough... Then I discovered by myself that "the boomy" part of the kick is actually sampled kickdrum from same song as they sampled the whole song. I did some fast EQ, compression, then I layered it with lowpassed Linn LM2 kickdrum and just a little bit of 909... It sounds a bit "choked" but I got a step closer
Here is my remake - first beats are mine, rest is from Superheroes

I have problem with sample compressing right I think
