Nope, at least on Windows, 32 bit software runs full speed & may even be faster for some plugins (as more registers are available in 32-bit mode). I've personally never hit the 4GB memory ceiling, but if you are hitting it, you'll know. I suspect ppl that find 32-bit limiting use a lot of audio (e.g. bounced tracks) and/or large sample libraries, but even just loading up dozens of synth instances can do it (apparently).

Not a synth but I'd really love to have the Sanford Reverb in 64 bit............ :)

I don't see any problem using a 32 bit host no matter what operating system you have, to need more memory you either are using plugins heavy on samples or loading an insane number of basic ones per project....

There's not a lot of creativity so far with 64 bit, so unless you like samplers and their realistic qualities, why care?

Using jbridge won't break old sessions. I routinely open projects from many years ago that are made up of almost nothing but old synth edit plugins that I have bridged. The plugins load just like they would if I was using an old system. I'm pretty sure that that is due to jbridge not changing the unique identifiers of the plugins. This is in cubase but I don't see why it wouldn't work in any other host provided that it's not a different plugin format ( like vst2 to rtas or vst3)
