I want the use the midi clock message in an application. MuLab seems to be sending short message 240 for the midi clock. The midi standard calls for 248. Message 240 is System Exclusive. Why this difference or am I doing it wrong? Thanks

MuLab sends out midi clock messages with status byte F8 hex = 248 dec. Don't know why you're seeing sysex start bytes.

OK. Ill look more carefully.
Just to be sure.. These messages are being sent to my PC application from the port selected from the "Choose Midi Clock Module" context menu on the BPM display. I am using the midi output port selected in the MIDI setup dialog from the MULAB menu.
