This is actually around two years old but very expensive and rare and AFAIK Hans Zimmer purchased one.
I have played this at the Musikmesse 2011 for quite a while and also talked tothe developer which seems to be a nice person.
Here is a video from 2011:

This synth is really a sound designers dream and sounding as analog as you could get. Production seems to be very limited and price range should be around 10000 to 15000 Euros.

Amazing - and patch memory too. Seems to be crying out for a ribbon controller.

When i played it at Musikmesse 2011 i was blown away by this as i hardly have ever been before (except the first time i played a Wavestation, Jupiter 8 and Minimoog Model D maybe). This is really what i would call a dream synth.
I had seen one of the voice boards and they seem to be fully discrete.

There was a knob that could change LED color (!!) and you could save this setting too.aMUSEd wrote:Amazing - and patch memory too. Seems to be crying out for a ribbon controller.

Which is also a very awesome way of categorizing patches.Ingonator wrote:There was a knob that could change LED color (!!) and you could save this setting too.

I dunno if I would pay $20,000 for a clavinet, it is maybe a favourite of the dev, but how much is clavinet used in todays music?

This demo I get the feeling that it is more a rompler than a synth

Clavinet like sounds had been done with analog synths since the Minimoog was released.Numanoid wrote:I dunno if I would pay $20,000 for a clavinet, it is maybe a favourite of the dev, but how much is clavinet used in todays music?

As already mentioned i had played the Schmidt synth at the Musikmesse and it's one of the most analog sounding analog synths i ever played...
Actualy it is based on discrete analog circuits, no pre-built chips.
I would love to own one if that would not need to win in the lottery.

I do not agree on that. Have you ever played the Schmitt synth yourself?tehlord wrote:Might as well use Zebra. It sounds exactly the same.
If you want to compare the sound to a softsynth i guess Diva would be a more proper choice.
