You can also use the Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) version, the one that organizations and web app developers (like me) who need security updates and major bugfixes, but other than that, need a version that doesn't change all the time.

just updated to FF34.0.5 and nothing worked. CUBEB_STREAM_DEVICE_DESTROY could not be located and XPCOM could not load. I immediately blamed the N. Koreans. Then I logged on to internet explorer and loaded 34.0.5 from there. Everything seems to work OK now and I can start in FF with no error messages. I will upgrade in a day or two on other computers and see if FF offers a newer version then.
