yeah long-term, further-down-the-road either FL, Bitwig or maybe Live 9 Suite but for rn now i've been researching Free VSTs, Plugins, Hosts et cetera & have been pleasantly surprised at what is out there. i do not really need a full-fledged DAW rn & in theory Darkwave Studio seemed like a perfect fit.
