Not really an interview (that necessitates another person asking the questions). It's a presentation

Interesting presentation. I'm liking NI gear. Though my present projects don't use that many of their things, I have maschine and polyplex, the molekular gets used often. I've got a plan to get Komplete Ultimate so I can get access to Session Horns Pro, and Session Strings Pro.. It seems they have a plan, and are quite user friendly..good job..Allowing license tranfers is also great for those that have bought individual things over the years and want to upgrade to Komplete, they have a chance to sell redundant programs..
I think their sampler needs some UI upgrades and added functionality though..

I saw the whole thing hoping to get a glimpse
of what is to come especially with the three sixes.
Absynth 6
Kontakt 6
Reaktor 6
Our plans for 2015 and beyond are "confidential"
Oh well I should have known better.

What else would they do, start to sell refrigerators or hairdryers?kmonkey wrote:i see NI is going to stay in music arena for quite some time

Hairdryers. Refigerators are the past. Hairdryers are the future. Unfortunately I agree it looks like NI seems committed to staying in the music arena. Damn shame, if you ask me...

I'm also wondering what the "big thing for 2015" is.
I suppose it is whatever they think is missing from their music ecosystem, some kind of DAW perhaps?

They will make Reaktor a full DAW and will be able to host VST's and VSTi's. Wishful thinking!ChamomileShark wrote:I'm also wondering what the "big thing for 2015" is.

Where was the great part? Hi, my company is a good company, can't tell you anything about what we are up to, thank you very much, good night.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

The presentation wasn't aimed at music people - more a general business thing as far as I can see.

If there *is* something big on the horizon for 2015 and this wasn't just more typical CEO speak which most of the presentation seemed to consist of, I think a proper DAW would be a really good guess.ChamomileShark wrote: I suppose it is whatever they think is missing from their music ecosystem, some kind of DAW perhaps?
I wonder if NI would really take this on in a big way?? What would it *mean* or look like to have a DAW that could have potentially deeper integration with NI vsts?? So many polished DAWS out there already, and most of us have such deep attachment issues with our DAWS... wouldn't make much sense to even try unless they could bring something really different to the table.
