I swear I've made a sound like this before, probably really simple but can't for the life of me make it now. Can anyone help, its just the main lead synth that runs through the song.

I think sylenth1 would do the trick, or maybe you have an existing sound allready that looks like this and you could tweak stuff?
I would say it a saw wave with a square wave layered, 4 voices each, something like that. detune them both a little to 30% and add a little resonance.
a slow attack but not too slow obviously, a long decay with a long sustain, a short release, not too short tho.
then add a little distortion and reverb but be subtle.
last add a lowpass filter on it, and play with the automation.
I think something like that, but you have to try it out for yourself!!
