Here at Orange Tree Samples, we believe that developing sample libraries is a very serious endeavor—-one that should be taken with utmost sincerity and sobriety. Our customers have long come to expect and enjoy a level of professionalism from us that we strive to maintain. Therefore, we will no longer be making any more April Fools’ day announcements. Such folly is entirely beneath us.

We would also like to take the opportunity to announce a slight change (an improvement, really) of format when it comes to sample library development. Considering that the Akai sampling standard has been so fundamental in the computer music world, we’ve decided to port our entire collection for compatibility with Akai’s S-series samplers. We think you'll agree, the beauty of simplicity of the Akai sampler is one that can be appreciated by a wide audience. As well, the floppy disks that are a staple of the classic Akai hardware make for gorgeously colorful coasters and hardy mousepads when not in use in your musical projects. The Akai S-series is a beautifully expressive medium and one that would be well suited with Orange Tree Samples’ current line of libraries.

We hope you'll join us in welcoming this new era of sample development here at Orange Tree Samples. We’ve come full circle. The past is now the future.

Could you give us some videos of your process like this one so those of us unfamiliar with the process can get in on this trendsetting decision? Also after you finish your conversion process could you do a Marvin Gaye instrument such as he is demonstrating? I can't seem to find one in Kontakt.

The funny thing is, with me having forgotten what day it is, being sleepy already, and my eyes having somehow jumped to the second paragraph first, I almost thought you were serious for a moment. And I was thinking, "What a bizarre thing to do...distilling sample libraries to classic hardware formats in 2015...and yet, weirdly cool, in a Joey Cook from American Idol sort of way." I really need to go to bed. :dog:

My very first "sampler" was a pre-1960's Dictaphone.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil
