Tremor is a good example of how much an onboard sequencer can enhance the workflow of drum synths. Fast polyrhythms and pattern switching combined with their transmod system makes for an awesome drum synth.fese wrote:Is a sequencer really necessary in a drum synth? most DAWs offer some kind of drum grid or even a drum sequencer and if not I am pretty sure there are some third party sequencer's out there.
Personally I find it much easier sequencing drums in my DAW where I have a lot of flexibility (quantizing, groove templates, shifting single notes ...) and not having to change into a plugin each time I want to edit something or copy a pattern or whatnot. But that s just me...
I'm not really seeing what this particular software instrument brings to the table, though.
