Editing and working with FLAC

I'd like to edit and convert high quality audio files (mostly 24 bit wave files) to FLAC, but I know nothing about the format. Any decent sources of info on this? Google results are not really good so far. What I need is professional and precise tools to edit and convert FLAC files, not some obscure "easy to use for the newbies" softwares for the general public.
Thanks!

I'd just edit the WAV version and when done convert it (in batch) to FLAC using e.g. FooBar2000.

Quite. It'll load, edit and export to either WAV or FLAC (along with pretty much anything else you want) at a variety of bit depths (some care required here, IIRC). (Just remember "export" not "save"...)aMUSEd wrote:Just use Audacity
