Hey guys.

So hopefully this isn't coming across as spam, but I've just launched the first episode of a new podcast for my studio, and the idea is to have an informal interview/chat with various people from around the music industry, hopefully allowing the listener to gain insight to workflows and also pick up some tips and tricks along the way.

Episode 1 is with Will Rankin (AKA High Rankin / Rain City Riot) where we talk about everything from sound-design to loops packs and performing live with modular synths:

The next few episodes, I'll be having the likes of Dom Wilms (Bitwig), Tom Waterman (Audient), Ian Shepherd (Mastering Media Ltd), Sonny Wharton (Skint Records), Matt Pelling (Loopmasters), amongst others...

Anyways... I thought I'd post this to see if anyone has any feedback/suggestions/requests or anything, as it's so new I'm keen to get an interesting format from the outset, but that's easier said than done when I'm so involved.

BTW, if you like it than you can also subscribe via iTunes and YouTube too. I won't bother with links galore here, but you can find it. :)

Cheers!

Had a listen through yesterday and thought it was well worth the time.

It's easy for an hour long podcast to descend into rambling and tangents which are neither engaging or relevant, but felt that you successfully avoided that. I didn't feel at the end that I would have been better off listening to an abbreviated version.

I liked in particular how the long format allowed you to explore Will's changes in musical direction and how they came about, and his and your personal reasons for using hardware. It's these "softer" topics that are very personal and subjective that I found the most engaging and enlightening.

I think both these topics would interest a lot more people who maybe wouldn't otherwise personally relate to an interview with Will Rankin.

wow, thanks kenobi77 :)

I totally wasn't expecting the podcast to be this well received tbh, but I'm chuffed it's had such positive responses so far.

I'm just trying to nail down a date for recording Episode 2 now...

Ah sorry about that, I'm still in the process of making the HTML5 player for the website... I've enabled the download option in soundcloud for now: https://soundcloud.com/kaneaudio/podcas ... ill-rankin

Ah cheers el-bo! Yep, I've been trying to sort out the next episode and should have it recorded this week hopefully... Just trying to pin down the time. :)

I'm also trying to sort out the back-end of the website to allow plays and downloads (with a counter so I can monitor/manage traffic etc), so hopefully Episode 2 will be more accessible.

I'll post here when it's up (rather than spamming with a new thread) etc if everyone's cool with that.
