I own an Apollo Twin DUO and I love the La2a compressor series for UAD.
Only problem is I see myself throwing them on a lot of channels in my mixes, which maxes out my card.
Any suggestions for Native compressors that are the same quality and caliber of the UAD La2a or 1776?
Thank you.

1176: Slate's VMR has an absolutely excellent model and is recommended. The Softube FET Compressor is an 1176. IK Multimedia has one. Waves has a few. Stillwell has The Rocket.
LA-2A: IK Multimedia has one. Cakewalk another. Waves has one.
My advice: demo.

The NI Softube LA2A is very good and not expensive. Slate 1176 is hard to beat (there is also this FG-401 where the circuit 2 mode remembers a bit to the behaviour of a LA2A)...

+1 on the bx opto. It's replaced IK, NI and Waves for me. MJUC is amazing, but very different. Different, but essential!!!

I got the bx opto last night on a $50 upgrade from the free opto pedal plugin they gave away. Feels like a steal, sounds wonderful. Haven't had much chance to play around with it.
Also bought the MJUC because it was cheap and I already own some other Klanghelm plugins and I know they are quality. Just installed it today so I haven't used it yet.
I downloaded the trial of Cakewalk's CA 2A and it sounds okay, but haven't played with it much. What are everyone's thoughts on it?
Also that being said, I've never tried U-He Presswerk.
Keep the discussion going! I'm always looking for Native plugins to replace plugins I use on my UAD platform, (as long as the quality is there) so I can free up DSP for my other UAD plugins.

The non-iLok suggestion would be Waves CLA Classic Compressors bundle - CLA-2A, CLA-76 Black/Blue and CLA-3A.
Not on sale right now, but look out for it.
I think I payed $150 or something at a retailer when Waves had it on $199.
I wonder if anybody buys at regular $600.
