It seems that my bank (Halifax) has gone back twenty years and started to charge a 2.75% fee plus a 1.50 Gbp surcharge for each transaction I make in a foreign currency. As we computer musicians buy plugins and other soundware from companies all over the world it makes it more expensive.
Can anyone recommend a bank in the UK that doesn't do this?

A friend of mine lately wanted to transfer money to an Australian account. The cheapest & simplest way for him was to use PayPal (also because Australia isn't connected to the European banking system)
