For sure is the MOTU or the K station I played with Virus or the last 30 min and everything works out with the system.

How can I tell who cause the problem?

Try to connect the K station to the RME FF?

Post

Okay so I found some information about the K-Station the operating system I have is very old(K-Station 1.0.09) and the latest version of the operating system is 2.1.01! Can that cause the problem? If yes, how can I upgrade the firmware on the K-Station?

Please advise

Thank you guys for such an amazing support. They say out there that the internet going to a bad place. not here, not at all!

I have managed to solve the issue, the problem was old version of the K-Station operating system.

I downloaded the new version from Novation webstie and it was easy to update the system for the latest version.

Here is the link:

As well I have managed to bring back the "missing space"

Here is how you do it:

Right click on C > Properties > Disk Cleanup > More Options > System Restore and Shadow Copies > Clean Up and then Ok.

In the three and a half years I have had my laptop, the ONLY BSOD's I have ever seen is due to something regarding my audio interface.

It happens sometimes when I close my DAW, and sometimes when I unplug the USB. But fortunately these instances are more rare since I upgraded to Windows 10. Unusual, since they stopped making drivers for it long before W10 was released.

For clarity... my A/I at the moment is a Propellerhead Balance. The Swedish DAW company's first and last foray into hardware. Incredibally overpriced amateur studio gear but very stylish, with two little tactile control aspects that integrate with the software (a clip safe feature that 'saves' overdriven input signals, and a button that instantly pops up a tuner)

But yea the non supported driver (for newer OS platforms) causes BSODs on a PC that otherwise never sees the blue meanie. So this is specific to this classy piece of junk.

Run CCleaner. It addresses a bunch of things specified in that bsod website.

It looks like the issue was solved a year ago...

But I haven't had a Windows crash since Win98. Plenty of application crashes, though.
And has anyone noticed the doubling-up of underlined letters in Windows menus, the Microsoft ones, I mean. No wonder they're turned off by default. :dog: Even Visual Studio (2013) has them.
Sorry, ot. Just woke up.

There's a program out there called "WhoCrashed" made exactly for diagnosing these types of things ;)

Hope it helps in the future,

I just went though this. It coincided with the purchase of a Fireface 400, so I assumed it was that, or it's driver. It was just a coincidence. It turned out that it was my MOTU Micro Express MIDI interface. I didn't really need it so I just disconnected it, but as soon as I did the problem went away. I haven't explored reconnecting it yet, but I'll try it when I get a new computer (today?) and see if it's indeed dead. I guess I'm hoping that maybe it was just a bad USB cable. I can't imagine what else it might be... It was functioning perfectly. Then I went out of town for a few days and when I got back, all of the sudden I had crazy problems like stuck notes.

I been using Microsoft since DOS and WIN3.11 at work and my first Windows home PC used WIN95. Rarely I had any blue screens but now after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 I experienced several blue screens every week. I Think I had only one or two during those 2 years I had Windows 7 with the same laptop. Some times I just wish I could kick those MS developers in the butt.
