Get the G40V and put groove tubes in it so I can have my amp in amplitube Other than that, time is ticking, when can we know about the release date?braj wrote:It would especially be a fun freebie, a good one for some sort of promotion.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:That was in serious consideration a while back, I'll have to find out what the heck happened. Looks like Oct 28th is what Sweetwater.com has listed a release date. I personally hope it comes out before that, but if that's the date than I will be waiting patiently.

@Peter or anyone who knows for real: AT4 specs say this for processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2. AT 3 specs say Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or Intel Core Duo or AMD Athlon 64.
That seems to say both versions can't run on a non-Pro Microsoft Surface tablet, which uses an Intel Atom processor.
Is that actually the case?
If so, that's a shame, the Pro version is significantly more expensive, and actually has some disadvantages over the non-Pro version. (Short version: Of course the Pro is more powerful, but it's not that simple.)
Actual info would be appreciated.

For me its just my unnecessary obsession for order to expect all gear to represent the same level of quality... I'd rather call it nitpicking on my side....
But people with overly sensitive emotions (and budget) may seriously wonder how IK is selling 300 items with the sound only 50 of them are capable of actually.
It's just weird for me to see 2 jcm800s in the starter package? And only one of them is 'Hyper-realistic'
"Included Gear
9 Amplifiers – 5 Classic British Amps: Brit 8000, Brit 9000, Red Pig, Brit Silver and Brit Valve Pre, plus American Tube Clean 1, American Tube Clean 2, British Tube Lead 1, Solid State Bass Preamp"
Nevertheless I wish the best for IK, they are already carrying software amp modeling on their back since years, with only a few real contenders. It's just these small pieces what I think might be missing from the puzzle.
Any chance on seeing the base models upgraded?

Can they do my old 8" maybe 10 watt with a torn speaker Peavey practice amp next? That was my first amp
But seriously, I am wondering how the older Fender Twin model will sound with the improved amp rooms, and more flexibility in placing effects in the whole signal chain.

I think that these base models are being upgraded with these new releases (it's been happening with the fenders, mesa boogies and marshals), but my guess is that they won't change the originals so that they keep sonic backwards compatibility. So even though they've redone the JCM8000, it's a new model rather than replacing the old. Even if you're improving the sound, someone might have it used in an old song, EQ'd and made to fit. If they were to replace a model then suddenly old projects wouldn't sound the same, which is never a good way to go. These base models have been around since Amplitude 1 I think so possibly used a lot.davidka wrote:For me its just my unnecessary obsession for order to expect all gear to represent the same level of quality... It would be nice though if the older presets using previous versions of models were put into a legacy preset folder or something.

I think having totally separate A3 and A4 installations would be simpler
and more usable at this point. The mental anguish of sorting among mixed gear and preset folders and paths would not enhance the overall experience. Especially If the free custom shop models are still A3 quality.
The gear integration in the past, serves a purpose, and worked,
but added nested menus, to the perils of choosing un-purchased gear
by mistake.
Not in the inspirational/fun categories.
Cheers

Well yes, I've read among the lines from Peter, that the cab section's improvement alone alters the sound in a pleasant way. Also, I believe I've read here that AT4 improves the components which are shared by every amp. Hence I was not considering that they keep the old ones just to make them 'sound like they used to' before.Echoes in the Attic wrote:I think that these base models are being upgraded with these new releases (it's been happening with the fenders, mesa boogies and marshals), but my guess is that they won't change the originals so that they keep sonic backwards compatibility. @Peter: Will we have new audio demos for 'legacy' AT gear used through AT4? Also, what are the demo limitations for AT4?
And yes, my biggest problem is more likely in the mind than the sound. It's a sad habit that I spend more time on reading gear than actually using what I have. I had great times with AT-free's included amps, but knowing that there are better alternatives inside the same software... Now that makes my ocd kick in

The existing AmpliTube 3 models have not been re-coded. They will benefit from the new features in AmpliTube 4 which will affect their sound. AmpliTube 4 will be a completely separate install so for those who might want to keep the previous models sounding just the same, they can indeed to that by continuing to use AmpliTube 3 in that context.davidka wrote: Well yes, I've read among the lines from Peter, that the cab section's improvement alone alters the sound in a pleasant way. I've heard nothing about doing something like this, it will probably be best to use the gear through AmplTube 4 when released to hear the difference using your own source material, presets, etc.@Peter: Will we have new audio demos for 'legacy' AT gear used through AT4? I wish there was a way to "favorite" Amps, cabs, etc.. In the list. Similar to ST3 where you can put a little star next to your favorite presets and then browse by favorites.
