40 mappable parameters seems like a lot, and for most things it's more than enough. However, I want to use PatchWorks Synth in a way that is going to require more. I want to host synths in PatchWorks and have hardware access to all parameters (or at least the 128 most important ones). Or have PatchWorks presets that include midi sequencers (such as Numerology) or midi effects/generators from Plug'n Script, or things like Cthulhu, or some of that Sugar Bytes stuff, or Reaktor ensembles--and have hardware control of both sequence parameters and synth parameters with recallable parameter map templates thanks to PatchWorks. With only 40, you run out quickly. 256 would be nice. They don't all have to be visible at the same time, since that might present problems from a GUI perspective. How about 8 pages of 32 parameters each page?

The problem with adding so many parameters is that it may affect performance and make automation more complicated, so we'll have to think about it...
