Hi y'all,
Am I dumb or is there no decent opto-compressor which do not cost to many bucks or isn't dongle-ed?
I loved the Variety of Sound ones and Blockfish but switched to 64-bit (yes, I'm aware of jbride but do not want to use it). Softube's Summit Audio TLA-100A Compressor is hot but dongle-ed. Any ideas?
Thanks

Softube Summit Audio TLA-100A opto compressor is activated through a digital iLok account. Don't need a dongle for Softube pluggies!
And I have the Grand Channel and the compressor is amazing.

I adore the bx opto here and recommend it unreservedly.
I used to like ik but the bx kills it for me as it has a detection filter and parallel mode, as well as being able to do smooth fast attacks if needed which is rare for a software comp. 9/10

I'm a big fan of the bx_opto and the T-Racks Optical Compressor which I've successful mastered a mix through a little while back.

For you're legacy LA-2A types, I also like the T-Racks offering as well as the CLA series, which are my personal favourite.

There is also an Native Instruments variation, which I haven't checked out, but i can't imagine it being terrible,NI has great quality stuff really. And Plugin Alliance have a new one which sounds quite amazing also. Its based on a hardware unit that offers its own variation to the LA-2A style of optical compression.

All are great processors, none of them requiring dongles
