Programs for playing VSTi live?

What kind of specs and or laptops do you guys use for live performance? I'd imagine as much ram as you can get and then the fastest i7?

Having a windows based live rig is not a big deal as long as it does what I need it to and does it at the top of its game.

I use a Windows based system to play live. And have been for quite a while. I use brainspawn forte as a host (Windows only). As much as I love forte, I think Mainstage will work just as well if you're bound to Mac. But on Windows there's no competition IMO.

Hardware-wise it's: Windows 7 64-bit, quad core i7 Lenovo laptop, 16GB RAM, 2 SSD's (replaced the DVD drive with a second SSD, no HD's), RME Babyface.
