I knew I'd be hunted down eventually, lol... Yes, it's me; your Super Tech Support, QA genius to the stars and Engineer/Producer supreme. A man of many hats! Hope you've all been well.
Okay - now that this is official... I'm voicing my relief.

Though my only issue I'm having with this - you're (sadly?) not sitting in the Support Section of NF.
Nice to hear from you again R.L. (aka Compyfox). :)

Oh, I am in the NF support section (much) alongside detailing all new products with the developers...

Let me know what issues you are having, and flag the support ticket with my name - i.e. FAO Ashley Smith. I'll see to it that everyone here is supported 200% through myself and/or colleagues.

FYI, back in the office on Monday. Taking a day tomorrow to aid an ill family member suffering the Big C too... :(

Thanks again everyone for support not only for the company (Plugivery and Nomad Factory) but myself for those of you I have worked with in the past, for others inc. Appreciated!!

Okay... now I'm definitely having a more relaxed view on Nomad Factory's new route...

Should I find anything in NF (so far, no issues - the SRC bugs in certain plugins, and a render bug in NEQ-1972 have been fixed), I'm sure to get in touch.

Heck, I might do that anyway at some point.

Way to go, Plugivery and Nomad Factory :tu:

Just bought Magma yesterday, wow this thing is virtually unusable in FL Studio 12.
Not to worry, I know updates are coming, I'll just sit on it until then.
Some nice FX in it though, as an Omnisphere user they are very familiar. Looking forward to seeing how things develop with the new...errm..developers. :-D

Is the sale on Magma still going on?

Post

Good question, look like it is, but it should have been over by now according to what was announced, but then again there was also a free plug that was suddenly not free anymore, all seem very unpredictable or unplanned :-)

I gave up on the hole thing due to lack of response, and no trust that that the issues with Magma will be fixed anytime soon, or at all.

Bugs f.eks. with unstable load of extern vst effects, and automation lack, plus crash when changing presets, goes back to before Bernie got ill, years back. When it was not possible to fix it back then, and in the years between. Why should it suddenly be possible now, with new programmers breaking up old code done by someone else, that's absolutely not an ideal workflow, and more than likely to introduce new bugs

Besides I am sure Magma is in the buttom of their priority list, if it is present on the list at all,...

Now the prices are back up, but what still adds confusion is that Dontcrack has choosen to leave the promotion-banner rolling on their front-page, insteadt of simply removing it now the sale is over,....

Do you think an update is incoming? I am not so sure, it has been quite a while...
Finally!

MAGMA is a fantastic product but the issues mainly come from the fact that the plug-in can also "host" 3rd party VST plug-ins, and that is very tricky to handle considering the numerous amount of DAWs available with so many different versions. Any plug-in that can host third party plug-ins have some issues and we'll work on it to make it more stable ASAP...
However it has also been brought to your attention that at least the most severe bugs have been introduced with the latest Magma update, but obviously you don't even care enough to make the previous installer available for those who can't really use what they purchased because of these bugs.

Actions speak louder than words.

Anyone tried to contact the support on that behalf yet?

Maybe this is sorted ASAP. I think with the workload currently (and in parallel), we have to consider that it takes a while to get the company back on track.

I did, and got a quick turnaround reply from Mr. Martyr, and then yet another followup from Ashley a few days later.

Sent over some videos of crashes in Reaper 5 / Live 9.6. Was advised that they will have thier attention on it but pointed out (as has been before) that they have some code to get their heads wrapped around. I wouldn't wish that on anyone tbh.

So it says a bit to me that they are willing to take up the task of keeping the plugins current rather than mothball everything. Would be nice to have the previous installer for Magma available if it indeed was more stable. But FWIW I can confirm that support is there and responsive, and that Magma is on thier radar.

Indeed, actions speak louder than words, we all know, what have been said, then and now, and all the noble intentions lately :-) wonder if the last installer is some kind of exeriment as how much its possible to pis people direcly in the head, and getting away with it, there has been no respons to this, not even providing the old installer, this is pure lack of respect,... also when the price is "only" 39 bucks,... its the hole culture and way of thinking that need to change, not just fixing the code, btw, most likely it would be both better and easyer to build new code from buttom up, there have been plenty of years, also before the tragic illness and loss,..

No in all seriousness - did ANYONE of you actually try to contact the support and ask for a previous installer?

I checked the "Download page" of Nomad Factory (which now links to Plugivery btw - and way more detailed than before), and the MAGMA installer is indeed v1.6.6 only. Actually, the full ISP bundle is also still 5.13 and that for almost a year. But well... it's a start for a backlog no doubt.

So... if you didn't ask the support for an old installer yet... maybe do so?
Or maybe one of the many KVRians has a backup of Magma pre 1.6.x? (don't have MAGMA, so I think I never loaded the installer)
