basically i have tried looking for some vsts that are specifically dsign for looping and dubbing, similar to hardware pedlas like the boss rc50.
money is not an object as me and my bro would save together to get it. doesn't matter if its a host program or a vst that we are getting. basically we just want the best solution that works well for a windows vista laptop.
have found programs like loopy llama and elipsis but i wanted to see if there were more proffessional and feature rich alternatives.
really hope you guys can help

I stumbled across this thread while googling on much the same topic (though my budget *is* limited). I notice that Wikipedia now has an article on live looping, which mentions several software solutions as well as traditional hardware solutions like the JamMan, RC-50, etc.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_looping (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_looping) . I really like Ambiloop, though it's a standalone program, not a vst nor a host per se, so maybe not what you're looking for. Ambiloop is pretty cool though, imo. It kind of reminds me of the Looperlative. It's also free, so you can check it out and if you don't like it, no loss.
You can check it out at the ambiloop website: http://www.ambiloop.com

Try GLoop: http://www.gvst.co.uk/beta.htm
I have a Jamman and I tried several VST loopers but this was by far the best for simple guitar looping and overdubbing. V. easy to use and it's free! I use it all the time.
Pick-up the effects bundle too - all high quality and easy to use.

one of my next releases as Pluggotic will be O-dub, a looper w/ overdubbing.
http://www.pluggotic.com/music/cdp_nulladispeciale2.mp3
in this track i'm fooling around with a strat+behringer fcb1010 and making some overdubs.
it's one main recorder with 6 overdub "slots" that are individually editable (volume, speed, reverse, mute, clear, retrigger), overdub lenght can be half, double or four times the initial loop, single & multichannel. does precise loop crossfading, too.
I plan to make a "co-op" version too, with 1 main recorder and some overdubbing slots per input channel.
but...no host sync yet.
(sorry in advance for poor playing in the demo )

Mobius is undeniably the most powerful looper out there, hardware or software.
Accordingly, it has a learning curve, but if you're up for the challenge and don't mind dealing with an ugly GUI, it's totally worth it.
8 stereo channels, multi outputs, realtime splice / reverse / pitchshift, unlimited overdubs with multiple undo, loop multiply, adjustable feedback, host/midi clock sync (with quantising to beat / bar etc, a la Ableton Live) midi control of everything... That's just the beginning. Add to that scripting control of pretty much every function (and a whole lot of undocumented ones).. I've yet to find something it can't do (edit: except realtime timestretching ), apart from mix me a nice martini

I too am looking for this. I am trying Mobius - I even tried Abletons looper to see what all the hype is. It would be cool if there was a vst like Abletons with the bar counters. Mobius is a little vague with the pie circles. Often times the time passes before I am done playing.

You may want to give LoopRecorder a try too!
