"Tiny controls" in unfair IMO, but it would be nice if GUI designers made the space around the knobs be also clickable/draggable (labels too), not just the knob graphic itself.Oliver Schmitt wrote:Hey guys! Here's another great testimonial of PunchBox!

allllll right....i got registered here only because i wanted to leave a comment about this plugin.
first of all, you guys do make a research and check out other plugins? like bigkick, stacker and others? if i was doing a plugin to make a kick then id make a research for sure. SOR's samples are great and i can say the best! d16 is a great company and im surprised how could they release a plugin with no drag and drop support. even smaller companies have this option. Also, if you make a kick, and you know for sure that kicks are made out of a few layers, then why not to implement delay for every layer?you know how much that important for placing and matching the transient with the midrange body of the kick. sometimes you dont need to filter out the lows and mids from the transient, all u need is to move the body forward. Stacker's "SCATTER" fucntion is amazing but ufortunetaly their synth engine is crap..their presets are TOTAL crap. but the whole layout is GREAT! Stacker would be the best kick plugin if it has ,at least, Kick's 2 engine. i tried to outflank this delay thing restriction by playing with ATTACK in punchbox but all i got is the strange shape of the kick.... And why no click option like in Guda audio's Kickr plugin or internal EKICK in bitwig. andddddd i cant repeat KICK's 2 thing when you increase pitch time and get that HARD trance kind of the kick... i dont know why but i can see a great potentil in this plugin...but you need to add all of the things ive mentioned here. of course you can say that " all plugins sound different, our has a specific character"...but well.. i thing that punchbox must be a swiss army kick plugin. maybe im wrong.

hi akward! thanks for your feedback!
indeed all kinds of kick tools differ in sound/concept/handling etc. although we receive great feedback from all kinds of users/press etc. we know the 1st version of punchbox is not perfect in some points. of course we are always open for ideas/improvements and we are really thankful for all kinds of feedback! especially criticism brings us forward! you mentioned some interesting points we def. will discuss for the next update.
thank you & all the best,

I am sooo close to buying Punchbox, but there's one thing I would like to see improved on:
A bigger range for some of the pots, the most obvious example being... a looooooong decay 808-kick. Maybe in order to let the x0x modules retain their authenticity, just add a "2x" to the options, doubling the poti ranges?
